Event Description:
Anxiety is primarily an adaptive psychological phenomenon, being a normal emotional state, present in all animals, including humans. It has an important biological function, which is to preserve the species, that is, extremely useful in our daily lives
1. However, it can become pathological. What characterizes the pathology of this emotional state is mainly when this emotion comes to dominate our thinking and excessively influence our behavior, making emotional suffering come to the forefront of our lives
2. Anxiety-related disorders affect more than 18.6 million Brazilians (9.3% of the population)
3. This number is particularly expressive because anxiety encompasses a set of diverse diagnoses such as Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, and Panic Syndrome, which will be widely discussed in this activity.
