Event Description:
Art in the Lab is an ongoing series of free workshops fusing art work and lab work. Participants are invited to re-encode their scientific experience as art.
For this event (our 5th Brain Awareness Week Celebration) join us to explore the structure of the brain using St. Francis College’s extensive collection of teaching slides and models, as well as measure your own nervous system at work via EMG recording. Together we will use these measurements to create a collective drawing. As always, basic art supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your own.
We are also happy to celebrate our fifth year of programming with an exhibition highlighting work created at and inspired by art in the lab events, as well other explorations connecting art with science. This show will be on view for the month of March at St. Francis College’s main exhibition space – the Callahan Center Gallery.
