Event Description:
The Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) held our annual event, Brain Night for Kids, on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at The Health Museum in Houston, Texas. The guests participated in a variety of demonstrations at 15 different stations. This event encourages participants to gain a better understanding of how neurons work and how they are connected as well as brain disorders and dysfunction. Children also learn the importance of protecting their brains with bike helmets and perform tasks which show them the difficulties of not having proper motor function. Fliers were distributed to local elementary schools and libraries. The event was also promoted through Twitter and Facebook as well as the NRC website. The event drew a crowd of over 300 children and their parents.
