Brazilian Brain`s Week!

Event Description:

The Brazilian Brain`s Week! is an initiative based on the dissemination of advances and benefits resulting from the study of the brain promoted throughout Brazil by the Brazilian Society of Neuroscience and Behavior and an integral part of Brain Awareness Week (BAW). It is also consolidated as a global neuroscience dissemination initiative promoted by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives worldwide. This year, also organized by doctoral student Gabriel Skiba from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto – USP, has the following interventions:

1- A show class will be presented, using magic and illusion as a didactic tool to stimulate learning and at the same time demonstrate how our brain can be conditioned to error. (teachers Giovani Lucas Miranda & Thiago Luis Zeni) – Curitiba/ Paraná. For this intervention, there will be a film crew (video and photos) for registration.

2- Aspects about psychiatric diseases, treatments and prevention will be presented and clarified to patients, with the participation of the medical team, nurses and technicians (Dr. Carolina de Moraes Pigosso) at the Health Unit in the municipality of Pontal. Pontal/São Paulo

3- Yoga and Meditation Practice: Yoga practices will be carried out with reference to the scientific aspects of control of the Brain over the body: meditation and breathing. (Me Marcos Crozetta) Atami beach. Pontal do Paraná/Paranaguá

4- An expository Chemistry class will be presented to students covering topics related to the action and impact of drugs on the nervous system, such as the chemical analysis of the THC molecule and the consequent effect caused by the recreational use of the drug (professor Robert Nespolo ) Curitiba, Parana.

5- Psychologists and psychoanalysts partners will mention the week during their consultations, clarifying topics related to mental disorders and emphasizing the importance of studying the brain. (Cíntia Macanhão)
