About This Event

Event Description:

"Citizen Science in Space Education Stimulating the Brain with LCO Deep Sky Imaging"
What do the brain and the Universe have in common?
Based on the article "The Quantitative Comparison Between the Neuronal Network and the Cosmic Web" published in the journal Frontiers in Physics, about the similarities between the human brain and the universe, a study by Franco Vazza, astrophysicist at the University of Bologna, and Alberto Feletti, neurosurgeon from the University of Verona, comparing the network of neural cells with the cosmic network of galaxies, the result brought surprising similarities. In the Brain Week to be held from March 13 to 19, 2023

(1) We will present Pills of Knowledge about the Galaxies, Nebulae and star clusters captured by the Telescope, provided by the Las Cumbres Observatory through the Deep Sky Images Project "100 Hours for 100 Schools", a 0.4 meter telescope system. Images will be exclusive to this event.
(2) We will hold a workshop coloring the Deep Sky images and identifying with Human Neural Network.
(3) We will provide the Helmet of the Brain and its curiosities (4) Installation of a Research with tour with images to be identified Images of the Deep Sky or Human Neural Network. (5) Vote for the most beautiful picture of Profound Sky and Neural Network

Alternate Description:
