COVID-19 virus infection is a kind of lottery: most people will go through it without any or with very mild symptoms, but some patients may develop a very severe clinical picture and complications that can end in severe health consequences and even sudden death. Since the severe form of the disease usually develops very rapidly and unexpectedly, of great benefit would be to anticipate such developments in time in order to timely react with adequate therapy. Can laboratory analyses predict possible complications of COVID-19 infection?
