About This Event
Event Description:
The proposed project is addressed to high school pupils and its objective is to familiarize them with basic current knowledge of Neuroscience and different aspects of brain research.
The initial activity of the project is a short film (Neurodome) revealing images of the brain, created by Dr. Fisher Jonathan, Assistant Professor of Physiology at the New York Medical College. The film was created specifically for showing in a dome and we’ll present it in a transportable planetarium. This fascinating show will excite the interest of the audience and will introduce them to the area of Neuroscience. The next activity will be an interactive learning of basic macroscopic characteristics of the human brain on models and microscopic neuronal morphology on brightfield microscopes. Finally, the pupils will have the opportunity to see on monitors examples of neurons activated in different situations, like place cells in the hippocampal formation and neurons of the occipital lobe.
