Family Impacts of Repetitive Brain Trauma

Event Description:

In recent years there has been an increase in research on the cognitive and neuropathological consequences of repetitive head impacts and multiple concussions. Given the frequency of head impacts in things like contact sports, the public health implications of these consequences may be significant.

These impacts can be life changing to not only the individuals but their families and loved ones.

In this seminar, we will hear from a number of guests speakers who treat or live with people who have sustained multiple head injuries. What support services are available, what are the clear indicators to look out for, and what does the future look like for research in this area?
