About This Event
Event Description:
Food plays a crucial role in brain functions, and it is important to understand the importance of a healthy diet for the nervous system. The activity will start with the presentation of the neurobiology of eating behavior and the importance of nutrients for neurocognitive functions. It will also be presented how the reward system works in the brain and its relationship with food, especially with the consumption of sugar. Reflections on the public’s food consumption will be carried out through a quiz, followed by the sharing of facts and curiosities about sugar and the nervous system. Then, through a short film, discussions on healthy eating and tips for promoting healthy and sustainable eating will be promoted. We hope that the public understands the importance of food choices for brain health and the effect of excessive sugar consumption on the reward system.
