Event Description:
Brief lectures will be presented basic concepts, causes and treatment of the main diseases that affect the Central Nervous System, especially those most common in the daily lives of young adults, including: Alzheimer’s Disease, Depression and Alcoholism. During the presentation will be clarified the pathophysiological processes involved in each of the diseases, the main causes, as well as the main methods of diagnosis and treatment. To illustrate the mechanism of each disease and its impact on the individual’s life, scenes from films that are related to these pathologies will be used in order to illustrate the daily life of that disease. At the end of each lecture, the main doubts related to the theme of the classes will be clarified, in an attempt to demystify or even inform in a correct and scientific way what is disclosed in the media in general. For this, we will have a “doubt’s box”, where students will be able to anonymously deposit questions related to topics.

Por meio de pequenas palestras, serão apresentados conceitos básicos, causas e tratamento das principais doenças que acometem o Sistema Nervoso Central, principalmente aquelas mais conhecidas do dia a dia de jovens adultos, entre elas: Doença de Alzheimer, Depressão e Alcoolismo. Durante a exposição do assunto, serão ensinados os processos fisiopatológicos envolvidos em cada uma das doenças, analisando os principais fatores que possam ser causadores dessas doenças, assim como os principais métodos de diagnósticos e tratamento. Para ilustrar o mecanismo de cada doença e seu impacto na vida do indivíduo, será utilizado cenas de filmes que tenha relação com essas patologias afim de ilustrar o cotidiano daquela doença. Ao fim de cada palestra serão esclarecidas as principais dúvidas relacionadas ao tema das aulas, na tentativa de desmistificar ou mesmo informar de maneira correta e científica aquilo que é divulgado na mídia de forma geral. Para isso teremos uma “caixinha das dúvidas”, onde os alunos poderão depositar de forma anônima as perguntas relacionadas aos temas.
