III Brain Week of Santa Casa de São Paulo School of Medical Science (FCMSCSP)

Event Description:

The activities will be done from 16th and 18th march targeting adulthood at Santa Casa (patients, students, professors, health agents and employees) as well as the entire community of our neighborhood; one day will be dedicated to kids from a public school in our neighborhood (from 9 – 11 years old). Moreover, the Academic Center of medical students and students that participate in the program Santa Maluquice, will be involved; Santa Maluquice is a program created by undergrad students dedicated to entertain kids and adolescents that are hospitalized. Around 8 professors and 15 students from post-grad programs, and 50 undergrad students will participate in the III Brain Week of Santa Casa de São Paulo School of Medical Sciences (FCMSCSP).
The goal of this event is to explain that everyone, boys/man and girls/woman, can do science. Woman were important historically in developing new concepts and techniques along science. To reach this purpose, different activities will be performed including, 1) 7 distinct exhibitions (famous woman from the year 1000 to 2020 and their discoveries and contributions); 2) activities to General Public, Patients & Caregivers, Professors, Professionals, and University students, such as i) stand of experiments (pH modification and collors), ii) be a scientist, iii) memory game, iv) giant border game (in the shape of a giant neuron); 3) activities with students from a public school (kids from 9 to 11 years old), like i) explanations; ii) draw a scientist; iii) stand of experiments (pH modification and collors), iv) memory game, v) seminar to teachers about mental health; 4) activities in the hospital with kids and adults (memory game, and bookmarkers presentations – with different women scientists).
The Dept. of Marketing from Santa Casa will print banners and flyers about the III Brain Week of Santa Casa de São Paulo School of Medical Science (FCMSCSP), and they are also responsible for the publicity of our event and to document all the activities.
