About This Event
Event Description:
Participants will engage in interactive improvisational comedy activities as instructors connect and discuss the psycho-educational and therapeutic benefits of improv for the brain. Mindfulness techniques will also be taught, each participant will have the opportunity to experience and practice these skills in the moment. The effects of mindfulness on the brain will also be taught. Overall, the objective of this workshop is to show participants through fun experiential learning and comedy that they have control over regulating emotional responses from their amygdala and increasing their feel good hormones and neurotransmitters in their brain.
This workshop is created and taught by psychotherapist, Andrea Baum, M.Ed., LPC, neurologist, Mary Quiceno, M.D., and professional comedian, Lindsay Goldapp.
