Even though Tom and Jerry “convinced” us that mice and cats get along, in reality it’s not exactly like that – cats are the predators of mice. Fear of cats is an innate fear in mice, observable even with laboratory animals that have never even seen a cat. However, this fear can also be lost. One way is the infection of a mouse with a particular parasite that changes the biology and chemistry of the brain in a very interesting way. But those are just mice, right … Does it have anything to do with humans? And what about that schizophrenia in title?
