The concept of empathy has been known since ages, however, it wasn’t until the recent technological developments that the scientists became interested in the neurological background of this phenomenon. What is the role of the newly discovered mirror neurons, are they responsible for empathy? Is empathy the same as morality and how can we improve the society? The answers to these and other questions will be presented in this lecture.
