Ibn Sina Academy of Medieval Medicine and Sciences (IAMMS) is a trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. It was formally inaugurated on 21 April 2001. The Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, gave accreditation to the academy in 2004 and promoted it as 'Centre of Excellence' in 2008. The library houses one of the most precious and valuable collections of 25,000 printed books, 1250 manuscripts, rare books, and a large number of periodicals. Books in many languages on subjects like History of Medicine and Sciences, besides thousands of bound volumes of magazines are extant in this library. The library is listed in the Directory of History of Medicine Collections, United States Department of Health and Human Services, National Library of Medicine, NIH, USA.

Event Description:
The forthcoming activity is related to educate the public about the benefits of neuroscience research and to increase awareness about the brain. The exhibition of neuroscience publications extant at Ibn Sina Academy (depicting history of neuroscience since medieval era specially the works of medieval Arabs who played a significant role to the growth of neurosurgery) and public awareness lectures on importance of neuroscience research would increase the public awareness, foster public enthusiasm and interest particularly among the young generation of Aligarh district. Students of all science disciplines including J. N. Medical College and A. K. Tibbiya College (Unani medicine), will be invited to participate virtually (Online) at various events like presentation of postal stamps on neuroscience, paintings, essay writing competition and poetry on brain and neuroscience.
