In the last ten years, the connection between the intestinal microbiome and many diseases, including Parkinson's, has been increasingly investigated. There are more bacteria in the intestines than in any other part of the body, and their number exceeds the number of our own cells. However, can these tiny creatures really affect our most amazing organ – the brain? The brain-gut axis hides some answers, and if you want to find them out, don't miss this lecture.
