About This Event
Event Description:
Resilience is understood as the ability of a system to successfully adapt to threats to its functioning, development and survival. Currently, due to the numerous challenges experienced by society in recent years, the term has become popular. However, it is noted that aspects related to the origin of the term, definitions, theoretical understandings and proposals for assessing resilience are topics that require attention from professionals. Given this scenario, this course will make a conceptual presentation of resilience from the historical path of investigation. It will address the different theoretical models and expected characteristics of resilient behavior. As well as dealing with the relationship between resilience and personality. Also, national and international instruments will be presented for this purpose, considering their psychometric qualities, potentials and limitations. Still, it will reflect on the ethical care that should permeate resilience assessment processes, especially with regard to possible conclusions in the face of good coping repertoires.
