About This Event
Event Description:
Our Brain Awareness Week in Tlaxcala 2023 will have 22 popularization talks aimed to primary, secondary, high school and university students from different public and private educational levels. The professors and some postgraduate students in Biological Sciences will go to the different scholar dependences. Some titles are: "Five senses and the brain”, Brain shields", "Please grow up!, “Unpacking the brain”
Three videos will be projected about the brain, and at the end there will be an interactive session. It will be for high school students. The titles are “I think, then I act”, “The Bayesian Brain” and “Brain and languages”.
There will be 2 workshops in the electrophysiology laboratory for a small group of high school students. The titles are “Neural control of movement” and “Brain and micturition”.
We will have a cinema-debate abouy Santiago Ramón y Cajal. At the end of the film, the events will be discussed and reflections will be made on Cajal's contribution to Neurosciences.
We will have 7 participations on the radio station that were previously recorded and will be broadcast repeatedly during the week of March 13-17. Some titles are “Neuro-protecting the brain”, “One sympathetic; the other, parasympathetic”, “Sticky cells in the brain?”, “Love is in the brain”, “Who's sleeping”.
Finally, we will hold a Brain Fair on Friday 17th at the Centro Cultural Universitario de la Autónoma de Tlaxcala. The majority public will be students of different educational levels and the interested public. There will be some activities for the visually impaired people, the texts will be with the Baille system.
