About This Event
Event Description:
The Brain Fair Istanbul will be a fun fair for middle school children to ignite curiosity about the brain.
The fair will take place in five different schools after the lunch break. Each student will enter the fair with five brain points to spend on games and activities about the brain.
There will also be a poster section alongside fun activities. The posters will be prepared and presented by both middle (grades 5-8) and high school (grades 9-12) students. The students are encouraged to listen to these poster presentations with brain points. Each poster listening will earn the participant two additional brain points. This practice will hopefully bridge the gap of activeness between extroverted and introverted children.
The fair has five main sections: Anatomy, Brain wellness, Brain stories, Brainworks, and Poster section. The anatomy section will teach neuron types with legos and hold a dissection session with a sheep brain. While the brain wellness corner will be the main attraction with brain foods, exercise, and stress management counters, a storyteller will stage classical stories with brain features in the brain stories section. At the same time, the Brainworks section has attention and memory games.
The Brain Fair Istanbul aims to reach approximately 300 students daily and mainly targets middle school students (grades 5-8) as participants and poster presenters. High school students are also welcome to submit their posters and participate in this event.
