About This Event
Event Description:
We put forward the second edition of “The Cinephile Brain” to be held along the BAW2020. This event brings a multidisciplinary scenario that allows the interplay of former and practical knowledge. By means of the universal language of movies and arts, we propose a film festival in which it will be broadcasted films, short movies and documentaries regarding different neuroscience topics. General schedule would be similar to the first edition consisting in: 1. An introductory section of each topic based on neuroscience formal research and yielded by the organizers (Macarena Herrera, PhD student; Natalia Marchese, PhD) or an invited young researcher. 2. Film broadcasting (autobiographical stories, research documentaries, science fiction and cartoons). 3. A closing section of debate and joint construction of ideas about different neuroscience topics. This last part of the activity implies the active play of the attendants, the researches and other invited professionals. For this new edition the planned topics would be: A. Movement pathologies (Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease); B. Stress and anxiety; C. memory, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease; D. stroke; and E. emotions. This last topic will be specially addressed for children with the broadcast of “Inside out” and an art activity proposal (drawing and painting the movie’s characters). The remaining sessions would be addressed for general public and all of them will be free of charge.
Alternate Description:
