About This Event

Event Description:

An unlikely insect, the Drosophila fruit fly has emerged as a prime model in scientific research and one of the most extensively used of all organisms. Over the past century, countless discoveries have been made that shaped our knowledge and deepened our understanding in various fields of Biology, including genetics, development, neuroscience and disease.
In this installation, our aim is to give a snapshot of a Drosophila Neuroscience laboratory setting, where we study brain development. Our work encompasses working with live animals and dissected brain at different developmental stages, from the embryo to the adult. At the final stages of our research, the brain is imaged and processed to reveal the beautiful and complex architecture of this amazing creature.
