About This Event
Event Description:
Seminar by
Simone Rossi – Professor of Neurophysiology, University of Siena
Emiliano Ricciardi -Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, IMT School
The event is part of a series of events organized annually by the Neuroscience Lab of Intesa San Paolo Innovation Center with the aim of illustrating and disseminating the evolution of research conducted in the field of Neuroscience.
Starting from the pages of the book, “The electric brain” (Raffaello Cortina Editore) ,which will be presented by the author Prof. Simone Rossi interviewed by Prof. Emiliano Ricciardi – we will discover where nervous information is born and how it moves; how brain connections work; what are brain oscillations, how they are studied and how they get sick. Furthermore: how is it possible to record the activities of the brain and possibly how, with neuromodulation, we can interact with them to do research, treat neurological and psychiatric diseases, but also to obtain a sort of “electrical doping” with the many ethical questions this raises.
“The electric brain” is a reading that takes us to the avant-garde of neuroscience, on the hottest fronts of research and clinic up to electroceutics, also leading to some important reflections on how to choose the objectives to manage unexpected events and consequences.
