The word “Neuroscience” now resides everywhere, becoming a commonly used term. The Magic Box is the first book that attempts to tell how this discipline was born, starting with a tea taken with the great over 100-year-old neuropsychologist, Brenda Milner, in her home in Montreal, passing through the stories of the granddaughter of the greatest neuroanatomist in history, Costantino Economo, and ending with the adventures of the creator of the first neuroscience center, the neurosurgeon Wilder Penfield.
Around these three scientists will turn the stories and discoveries of other protagonists who, in just 50 years, have revolutionized the way of conceiving the human being. Revolution that today is ready to explode in new theories about the human mind, such as the fractal dimension and artificial intelligence.
