Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
A group of 15 students comprising both boys and girls, of the 4th Junior High School of Pyrgos – Ilias, Greece has combined video art and a power point presentation in order to introduce to public and students a new, innovative and exciting field of Neuroscience: Neuroaesthetics Our school group has decided to participate with a) an exhibition booth b) a digital audio-visual presentation c) a power point presentation Several “works’ of art were on display at our booth such as: paintings on canvas inspired by the brain and nervous system (9 paintings altogether) a paper made mosaic neuron a knit brain inspired sculpture hand painted stones (press peppier) inspired by the neurons a variety of food inspired by the brain: jelly brain, cup cakes eyes and cakes with neurons decorations In the first part of our presentation, the students presented a 6-minute video, a digital audio-visual storytelling that aims to explain visual experience using the biology of the brain. In the second part the very interesting and scientifically established presentation ended explaining to the audience that Neuroaesthetics are trying to explain why humans need beauty in their lives and that knowing how our brain works support the perception of beauty and allows us to admire and enjoy not only works of arts but also the amazing organ that helps creating these! All participants found amazing all these new informations rased by Neuroasthetics and everybody was impressed on how such a difficult scientific topics was explained so good from students.

We have sucessfully participated to BAW 2015 campaing so all students and parents from our school were looking forward for 2016 event. More and more students ask to participate next year
