Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

The event was the first season of an educational show where neuroscientists presented their most important research findings and relevant current knowledge to the public. Each episode was designed as a live “TV show” hosted by three presenters/neuroscientists. The presenters are introducing a scientific topic of general interest and invite senior scientists as well as young researchers to discuss it and give their personal perspectives. The audience attends the educational show live and interacts with the presenters and the invited scientists, making questions or comments at a specific time frame. Four episodes of one hour took place on 19 March 2022 in the Aristotle University Research Dissemination Center (KEDEA) in Thessaloniki.

In the cultural center & art museum of Lazaristes Monastery of Thessaloniki, an exhibition of educational material related to neuroscience for secondary school pupils and adults was also available for one week. This provided an interactive learning of basic macroscopic characteristics of the human brain on models and microscopic neuronal morphology on brightfield microscopes. Visitors had also the opportunity to see Neurodome, a full-dome movie about the brain, on Planetarium On The Go, as well as educational videos about the structure and the function of the human brain.
