Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

Accomplishments The successful hosting of BAW 2021 by Neuroscience Research Group (NRG) of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, with the theme: “Dynamite in My Brain” Accomplishments are summarized below: 1. Production of materials for the Week: T-Shirts, banners, pamphlets and e-posters. Electronic billboards were used to advertise the Week, as well. 2. Day 1 of the Week (Tuesday, March 23): To ensure adequate State-wide awareness of BAW 2021, members of the NRG were featured on a talk show (Day Break Nigeria) on Ekiti State Television (EKTV) from 9:00 – 9:30 AM to talk about the Week and answer other brain-related questions from the hosts of the Show (video clip attached). 3. Day 2 of the Week (Wednesday, March 24): A campus-wide rally was organised to raise awareness about BAW 2021. This was easier to conduct because all the students in the Student Arm of NRG (the Neurotransmitter) who participated in the rally are fully accommodated on campus. Just to mention, ABUAD is an all-on-campus accommodation University. The rally took off at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, through the Male Hostels, the Female Hostels, the Medical Hostels (Male and Female), and ended at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences with some light refreshments of biscuits and water. Some photos from the rally are shown below. 4. Day 3 of the Week (Thursday, March 25): This day was set aside to hold 10-minute lecture across different colleges in the University. The NRG group (together with its student arm, the Neurotransmitters) were divided into 6 teams to hold lectures simultaneously in the different auditoria across the colleges in the University. The lecture was given by our student representatives.
