Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

Brief Description: The BAW Project is geared towards creating a platform to discuss Brain health, Neurological disorders and how it effects our day to day activities in the academia, as professionals, students and community as a whole. There will be talks, symposiums, workshops and neuroLab tour that highlights some selected Neurological disorders and how the disorders affect lifestyle, changes in the appearance of the brain in MRI images, potted brain samples and on microscopic slides and make advocacy on lifestyle that will facilitate healthy brain e.g good diet, exercise and supported by published research articles. The objective of the program: is to create awareness on the brain, neuroscience career pathway to young students. A symposium on Careers in Neuroscience will be given by a Neuroscientist, it will focus various career paths in neuroscience, how medical research help study the process of brain diseases and possible treatment measures. Awareness on various careers and fields of neuroscience and their significance in neuroscience research in brain health and diseases. Examples of the fields that will be mentioned includes; Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, Translational and Clinical Neuroscience etc.The Objective of the event was achieved as participant feedback survey indicated that they were more enlightened on brain, brain health, memory and neuroscience career paths. Certificates of attendnace were were presented to participants.

The students are now aware that this is an organization that support Brain Awareness globally. They are now aware that Brain is a vital and interesting Organ of the body and it is being study under the filed of Neuroscience which is a vast field.The Students are now interested in creating Brain awareness club and outreach plaforms individual.
