Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

One event was held online for one hour to raise awareness and support for Brain Awareness Week. The event was held on Facebook and Twitter under both the company accounts, Auspicious Fish, Inc. as well as from my personal accounts. The objective was to raise awareness and encourage dialogue regarding brain health and healthy activities. The goal of encouraging online responses was not met during the one hour event, however subsequent followers have increased in frequency and number so I feel the goal of raising awareness was met. In the future, I would encourage using an open face book group perhaps, with more advertisement prior to the event. Stigma regarding mental health and cognitive struggles are still stigmatized and difficult to engage people in openly.

Increased followers on social media, increased interactions and people speaking up on Twitter specifically

Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:

I learned about the event late, and didn’t have much planning or prep time so I would encourage marking the calendar and insure you have ample time to create a good presentation.
