Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
In 2016, the “Printemps des Sciences” week coincide with the BAW, so we could merge within 3 Universities (Brussels, Liège and Mons) activities gathering many students from secondary schools. The thematic of the “Printemps” was FOOD so in Liège we focused our conferences on Food and Brain and in Brussels on Eating Disorders and Brain. Gathering EDAB logistics, the European Parliament Science Technology Option Assessment Committee and Belgian Brain Council network, we could organize an event gathering outstanding speakers such as Richard Morris and policy makers, but also specialists in neuroscience, CEO of the European Brain Council, etc. The President of the Belgian Brain Council organize also a meeting gathering specials in Deep Brain Stimulation. Two patients associations members of the Belgian Brain Council (La Braise and Aidants Proches) also organize events swell as Dr. Franco, vice president of the Belgian Brain Council. All together we could cover a large audience, more than 2.000 people from all ages and all activities.

Conferences were well attended with enthusiastic students. The European Parliament was a success thanks to the combination of the quality of the speakers and the work of the BBC to stimulate the participation of several stakeholders.
