Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

My colleagues and I created a lesson plan entitled, Exploring Behavior Through Brain Structure and we made it freely available to educators via the Share My Lesson Plan server. The lesson plan can be accessed here: https://sharemylesson.com/teaching-resource/exploring-behavior-through-brain-structure-300266. We noted in the introduction that the lesson was created in the spirit of Brain Awareness Week and provided a link to the DANA/BAW page. In addition, we launch a social media campaign on facebook where we posted daily news on brain and behavior.

Feedback & Keys to Success

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?

Our aim was to assist educators by providing a lesson plan to introduce students to brain structure and behavior. This knowledge is important and empowering given the increased incidence of neurodevelopmental disorders, neurodegenerative disease and psychiatric conditions, all of which have profound effects on behavior.
