Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

The first event was a Food Truck Festival for parents of an international school in Santiago, Chile. Our purpose there was to raise awareness among parents of the latest scientific finds regarding brain training and learning by having a booth and by doing brain training exercises and games that made their brains “sweat”. The second event was a fair for complementary therapies for rare diseases in which we had a booth and I gave a presentation on the benefits on brain training for people on the Autism Spectrum. It was an all day affair. I had the last session of the day and there were 18 people present. We managed to sign up 10 people to receive more information and as of now have one assessment from that event. That assessment became a client of our brain training center.

Event Planning & Publicity

Publicity Methods Used:

  • Emails
  • Social Media

Which of These Publicity Methods Was The Most Successful?

BAW caught us off-guard this year so the only methods we used were emailing previous contacts and social media. I would say the social media outlet was the most successful as we posted every day and those posts were shared among several friend groups.

Feedback & Keys to Success

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?

By participating in BAW, sponsored by an internationally recognized organization we gained credibility in our local community. We gained visibility and a client as well.

Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:

We are determined to begin our planning of events for BAW with much more time next year. We believe we could have reached more people had we started our advertising earlier.
