Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
BrainMasters and Your Brain at Huntcliff Summit was the first event for BAW 2015. BrainMasters exhibited a display board and poster. Speech-Language Pathologist, Heidi Lipman, M.Ed.,CCC-SLP co-founder and owner of BrainMasters conducted an educational and hands on interactive workshop focused on brain health, fitness, and maintenance. We served some brain healthy dark chocolate just prior to exercising our brains with some cryptograms, word searches and crossword puzzles. Our event targeted residents, family members, staff, and professionals in the area. The primary objective was to increase awareness of brain health, maintainance and research. We believe we successfully achieved our goal with this program. Our second program for BAW 2015 entitled BrainMasters and Your Brain was conducted at Brighton Gardens Dunwoody. Heidi Lipman, M.Ed.,CCC-SLP co-founder and owner of BrainMasters conducted an educational and hands on interactive workshop focusing on brain health, fitness, and maintenance. Residents of independent and assisted living communities, family members, caregivers, staff, and professionals in the area. We provided our customary dark chocolate prior to participating in some brain exercises including cryptograms, word searches and crossword puzzles . All of our events were well received and enjoyed again this year. The pencils and brain erasers are always a big hit for all ages. We definitely feel we accomplished our goals with BAW 2015.
