Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
The activities included several talks related to brain function (sex, sense of sight) and dysfunction during several diseases including epilepsy and addiction to marihuana, alcohol and tobacco. Further, we had 20 interactive games exploring perception of pain, memory, drawing, twister, interactive table, spiker box, jigsaw puzzle, neurotransmission, questions and, brain areas, rally of language, and Minecraft, among others. Further, an exposition of brain slices of healthy subjects and Alzheimer, Parkinson and Stroke. Materials were obtained from our Brain Bank.

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
Activities related to BAW benefited our community because scientists were in touch with elemental and high school teachers and students. Besides, our community discovered how the brain works and integrates the information as well as how the brain dysfunction occurs during a disease.

To obtain more funds from private companies, the activities should be organized at least with 6 months in advance.
