Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
The porpouse of our BAW’s events was to ge t involve more people as possible from young to adult and old people in differents place. For this reasons we organized events with different main topic: ‘NeuroEducation’; ‘BrainyKids’; ‘My Brain in Action’; ‘Get Connected’. The main topics of the events were the relation between brain and fitness,the importance of learning new languages, we explain the nervous system and the prevention of brain injiuries, with more of 600 partecipants. We had explored the cognitive benefits of exercises in healthy and pathological state and we underlined the importance of prevention campaign for brain injiuries. Indeed, we went to different local schools to talk about neuroscience with children, adolescents and disabled children. We were host of the local department of Neurosurgey where we set up an info desk where we illustrated the role of neuropsychologist in the treatment of neurologic patients and their family. This first edition of BAW-Calabria 2017 achieved a resounding success!

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
I pointed out the importance of the role of Psychologist in the present community. Primarily, one young female psychologist have organized for the first time in Reggio Calabria a series of events for an international contest in the field of Neuroscience by involving local institutions with the support of medical local representatives.
