Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

During Brain Awareness week in March 2018 the Psychology and Nutrition course from the University of Barretos in Brazil participated in our second Brain Awareness Week, led by Prof. Everton Horiquini-Barbosa, Fabiana Faria, Mariana Ducatti and Mariana Roselino. Events were hosted by the Brazilian Society for Neuroscience and Behavior (SBNeC) and in total there were five events held during our Brain Week. The first event was named The Little Scientist, a workshop was held in a child school where approximately 90 children took part in hands on activities to learn more about the brain making a paper brain hat while a group of 18 psychology students taught them about the brain functions, and also, a group of 7 nutrition students taught them about healthy food for brain. The second event was a series of presentations in the university of Barretos to approximately 200 students. The third event was a movie night that we called Science with Popcorn, with the exhibition of a National Movie about schizophrenia, approximately 30 students from psychology course participated. About 15 psychology students performed a activity to talk about how the brain process works for people with cognition impairments in a caring association using a playfull activities. Our last event was a pizza night, and the students are invited to a pizza and neuroscience quiz night. Our Brain week events were publicized on campus and on the electronic media. Feedback for all events was extremely positive.
