Main objetives of our program was to promote five instagram lives with neuroscientists to talk about neuroscience career. We feel we have achieved our goals, we had very good positive feedback from the students, they said the talks made them excited about the neuroscience career and was a boost of energy in a dark scenario of national funds cut.

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
We believe that our participation in the Brain Awareness Week benefited our institution giving more credibility to the event, being supported by Dana foundation and Sbnec. The immediate outcome is a sense of community and for sure a boost in energy and hope to students who dream about becoming neuroscientists.
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
The lessons we learned were very positive, some of the moderators were insecure to talk live in instagram, but in fact we conducted very smoothly the talks. Initially we planned for 30 min event, but almost all we went to talk for 40-45 minutes and the public was still online watching live, so 40 minutes seems reasonable time. We will repeat live event this week talking about the modifications of maternity to the brain, as a celebration of Mother’s Day.
