Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
The Neuroscience Student Organization celebrated Brain Awareness Week as an official partner of the Dana Foundation with an outreach event on Wednesday, March 15th. We had a table in the Breezeway on Florida Atlantic University’s Boca Raton, FL campus. The Breezeway is a central walkway in the institution. We dispelled common myths about the brain and handed out research information packets, pencils and other swag. We also spoke to many undergraduates about continuing their studies in brain science graduate programs offered here at FAU. We achieved our goal of engaging with our university’s community.

We are hosting a follow-up graduate student brain science panel to answer undergraduates’ questions about the programs and life as a graduate student. We received a lot of questions about these topics during our BAW outreach event.
