Brochures from Dana.org were distributed around our community to a variety of ages and workers with exposure to brain health such as nursing homes- for families of new residents, medical clinics/ patients, middle school students in special ed classes, and high school students in the nursing program.

Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

This year we reached out to the community, places such as the free medical clinic which serves older adults without a doctor, as well as high school anatomy students. There is a plan to collaborate the high school psychology students, special ed. class with high school students in the nursing program for next year. The middle school students saw the importance of playing safe and using other good habits.

The special education teacher visited the community places mentioned above in order to offer the materials to a population that we have not reached out to in the past years.

Every group was excited to accept the materials offered. The sp. ed. teacher enjoyed getting out into the community.
