Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
The lecture was titled Your Brain; Your Power and was delivered by Dr. L.A. Olatunji. It was organized in conjunction with the Knowledge Platform, a Non-governmental organization. The lecture was chaired by a retired Justice and former chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), Justice M.M.A. Akanbi OFR. The lecture was focused on what you can do with your brain, memory and learning, the effect of aging on the brain/memory function, brain killers to avoid and also the diseases that can affect the brain. Another invited speaker at the event was Prof. I.A. Katibi, a professor of medicine, who spoke on the effect of stress on brain function and general wellbeing. The lecture was well appreciated by the audience and they expressed their pleasure at being enlightened on the brain. There was a question/comments section after the lecture where the audience were able to question the speakers or seek further clarifications on some grey areas. Brain awareness books as well as pencils and erasers were presented to those in attendance by Dr. L.A. Olatunji. There were about seventy attendance of bankers, medical doctors, lawyers and media practitioners and members of the general public. The aim of the lecture was to enlighten professionals as well as the general public on the role of the brain in memory and learning, effect of aging on memory and how to combat it, brain killers to avoid as well as the effect of stress on brain function and this aim was achieved.

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
Participation in the BAW has helped members of my community to be better enlightened about the role of their brain in memory and learning. They have also learnt steps to take to allow them make full use of their brain as they age and also brain killers to avoid.
