Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
Brainy Drawing Exhibition We started our BAW with this activity. In a fun atmosphere outside at the campus, we hung the participants’ drawings and we put an election box where students could choose their favorite drawing. We wanted to achieve two aims: First we wanted to show students with painting skill how they can use it in their psychology fields and relate it to the brain, second we wanted to show others how creativity can make science fun. As we saw, students liked this way of exhibiting science. Little Bitty Brain We visited an elementary school and presented information in a fun way to sixth grade students. We firstly showed them useful and harmful foodstuffs for brain and asked them to draw pictures about brain, we chose one and gave the winner BAW T-shirt then we gave them all BAW badges to wear on their cloth. After that we gave them apples with information about brain stuck to them. It was fun and informative so we achieved our goals. Psychological Experiment In this program we run fun experiments at university for all the students and collect their data. Brain Awareness Week Conference We invited some master of cognitive science students and they presented information about this field to psychology and social work students, also we showed all the students our works of the week. In the end we announced the drawing competition winner and in a symbolic way, we purchased her work and kept it in our association.

We could feel the participation of all the students and fortunately as our first event of our association we really could attract students’ attention. Besides, it triggered all their minds about brain matters.
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
Choose your teams of the event wisely and lead them all in your common goal and more importantly in choosing the lecturers always remember the fun dimension and tell them to make it interesting specially if its for students.
