Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
To commemorate Brain Awareness Week 2021, I released an off-cycle episode of Her Royal Science featuring neuroscientist Dr Nour Al-muhtasib, postdoctoral fellow at Yale University. In the episode, she spoke with me about the intricacies of being a first-generation graduate student, the addiction research that she’s about to begin in her new lab, and what it was like starting an electrophysiology postdoc just as the COVID pandemic began. We ended the episode with some of Dr Al-muhtasib’s favourite fun facts about the brain. This event was a success; the episode was well-received by the audience, and the conversation was equal parts informative and inspiring.
