Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

1. Virtual brain week Information for the general public about neurosciences was made available at our website: http://www.einstein.br/pesquisa/instituto-do-cerebro/Paginas/semana-internacional-do-cerebro-2015.aspx. The site had 478 visits during the month of March. 2. Neuroscience competition – Brain Bee To stimulate the interest of high school students in scientific research in neurosciences, Hospital Albert Einstein organized the 2nd Neuroscience competition (Brain Bee) in Sao Paulo, Brazil on March 19. The event was attended by 88 students from 16 public and private schools in Sao Paulo. Students answered 50 questions on basic neuroscience, neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, neurohistology, neuroimaging and clinical neurosciences. The students had an average of 40% correct answers. The three students with the highest scores had 87%, 85% and 78% correct answers, respectively. The competition ended with a lecture about “Neurobiological basis of emotions” by Professor Norberto Cysne Coimbra from University of Sao Paulo. The winners had the opportunity to represent Sao Paulo in the Brazilian national neuroscience competition on May 14, 2016 at Hospital Albert Einstein in Sao Paulo.
