The Brain and COVID-19
Psychiatric Hospital Doctor Samuel Ramirez Moreno March 16 to 19:
The academic activities were 26 conferences, 200 attendees within the remote mode by day. Topics such as the possible neuropsychological and cognitive effects that have been documented with respect to patients who had this disease.
Likewise, neurological findings were presented that very recently have been reported by the presence of the virus in the neurons of various brain regions such as the limbic, olfactory and gustatory areas. Issues related to the assessment and care of the population affected by COVID-19 were discussed from the assessment of electroencephalography, psychopharmacology intervention and mental health care programs in times of pandemic.
Finally, such as the grieving processes and the importance of humor in mental health. At the end of the event there was the participation of a child collaborator who, through a character called “Cerebrin”, was intended to sensitize and attract the attention of children to recognize the importance of brain care in people’s mental health.

The lesson learned is that we can carry out Brain Awareness Week online in difficult times (living with the pandemic) with great participation of the people.
