Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

During one week, every day, we hold in our Institution (INEC) symposia and workshops followed or not with posters exhibition or demonstrations. We had talks with scientists of the USP Campus here in Ribeirão Preto or even from other Campus like Federal University of São Carlos. We also had students of graduation programs from USP Campus-Ribeirão Preto between the speakers and the audience. Undergraduate students from this Campus and of other Universities of Ribeirão Preto also attended the event. The house was kept open for two periods for an Exposition about "Psicobiology of the angst and stress" that was visited by students and teachers from colleges of the region.

Feedback & Keys to Success

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?

It was very well attended and we have several discussions after the talks and even during posters presentation. The scientists graduate and undergraduate students were delighted to get to know that there is an Institute in the town that is devoted to neuroscience education

Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:

If you intend to organize a week event like we did. You have to plan at least two-three month in advance in order to contact the speakers, organize the exhibit , make the advertisments appropriately, etc... In the Baw homepage you can find some tips.
