Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
The IMT School organized various events throughout the whole week. Some of them were organized in collaboration with other partners, who promoted the event to their contacts, and this was very useful to reach a greater audience. The week started with a conference for the general public: SENZA PAROLE – COME COMUNICANO PIANTE, ANIMALI E ESSERI UMANI On the same day the “Circolo del Cinema di Lucca” scheduled a special event: the projection of the movie “Taxi driver” that was introduced and commented by two psychiatrists, who gave a scientific perspective. One of the events was dedicated to high school students: SPORTIVAMENTE: COSA RENDE SPECIALE IL CERVELLO DEGLI ATLETI. More that 300 students attended. The events were filmed and all videos are available of the School’s YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/IMTAltiStudiLucca For the first time the Brain Awareness Week was organized in Lucca (with a satellite event in Viareggio). Despite being the first edition, the event raised great interest.

Our School obtained great visibility thanks to the BAW and the event was useful to explain one of our research topics to the general public. The local community enjoied the opportunity to meet scientists.
