Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
This year we explored emotions. Through interactive activities we presented the importance of the emotions and its recognition. The students were divided into groups for explanations on interactive stations (about 15 minutes) about the central pathways, neurotransmitters, empathy and face expressions. We also gave copies of recreational and coloring sheets (cross-words, figures, labyrinths). We also presented 2 lectures one about the benefits of meditation to the health of the mind, and how we should be aware about using some mosquito repellents in order to avoid bad effects, specially to the central nervous system. We gave to the audience and general public informative sheets about Alzheimer disease and stroke. People were very happy to have access to the knowledge.
