Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
We employed a number of sessions, which included lectures and practical classes, delivered by basic scientists as well as by clinical colleagues. We also included sessions devoted to Public Understanding of Neuroscience. Some activities were designed to provide experience of working in groups on problems associated with brain function, which allowed them to build on and apply information that had been presented in formal lectures. we fostered an informal environment and encouraged people in the audience to ask questions following each presentation. The lectures and conferences had an average audience of 80 people and the group working format worked well.

Feedback & Keys to Success
How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
People expressed great interest in participating in the next BAW event and even asked for being informed on the planning for the organization of the next III Semana do Cérebro do INeC. The Instituto also gained more visibility in the community so that more engagement on other INeC’ activities is expected.
