Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

The opening of 2015 BAW organized by the Neuroscience Institute- IN, was held in Club Información conducted by the UMH Vicechancelor, Manuel Jordán, and the Neuroscience Institute Director, Juan Lerma. The Round table “Brain and Society: Education and Neuroscience” by Prof. Ignacio Morgado from Barcelona University UAB, and Prof. Jose Antº Corral, from Middle education institute La Foia de Elche, both exposed the advantages of applying neuroscience knowlegde and tolos to the educational system. At the Institute of Neuroscience, two talks “Animal models for Research” and “Our Brain” were given every day during the 3 openday exhibition which were fully attended. We implemented eleven interactive Stands showing all the tools used to understand the brain function at the Institute (genetics, electrophysiology, visual sensory illusions and different experimental models normally used in Brain research, General public enjoyed all the explanations and demonstrations from 60 scientific volunteers led by Dr. Diego Echevarria. This BAW edition 2015 We received a total number of 950 visitors from different ages (between children from 5 years old to pensioners)
