Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

We encouraged individual members to join in a recruitment drive, offering incentives to individual members to participate — the top participants were featured on the IYNA website and given awards for their efforts. However, fewer IYNA members than expected were supportive of the efforts, with many of them refraining from participation within the drive. In the future, with more members and a larger social media campaign it will be far easier to reach a larger audience and achieve more success in the recruitment drive.

  • Social Media

Which of These Publicity Methods Was The Most Successful?

Our emails were most successful; as few people will check the IYNA Facebook messenger chats, it was our emails which were able to effectively reach the necessary audience.

Feedback & Keys to Success

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?

While we were able to recruit some members, we feel that the IYNA recruitment drive was not as successful as it could have been, as many of the members recruited have since been relatively inactive within the organization.

Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:

It is incredibly important to maintain a strong social media presence, both from the main account and from the accounts of those involved with the organization. Being able to start a larger social media campaign would have allowed the IYNA to run a far more successful campaign.
