Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
March 16th 2017: Science meets Comedy: Psychiatrist and clinic-director Prof. Dr. Guenter Niklewski presented a scientific talk about the history and present of psychiatry and brain diseases. Comedian Lizzy Aumeier “translated” that talk into lay-speech, asked crazy questions, discussed humorous with the “professor”. The audience had fun and learned a lot about “lunatic guys and crazy fellows”. [Attended by 200 guests, Planetarium nearly sold out.] March 19th 2017: “Forum heißer Debatten” im “Humanistischen Salon”: Dieter Birnbacher, professor of philosophy and ethics discussed with Frank Erbguth, professor of neurology about “decisions between life and death: embry-protection, organ donation and suizide accompaniment”. A significant, high-level-discussion between two experts, including questions and ideas from the audience. [Attended by 80 guests, “Parks” totally sold out.]
